Waiting for it to Get Better
Luke 2:25-38
Like Simeon and Anna, we need consolation because of our terrible and frightening times. We are tired of living with the same old, same old and long for comfort. When is the new going to arrive? How much longer do we need to wait? Still, a close look at the lives of Simeon and Anna will tell you that new realities are starting to emerge. Luke's message for today is that birth of Jesus Christ is now shaking the old foundations of ethnicity, class, gener, and age. As you recognize the early signs of Christ's work in the world, God wants you to continue waiting for it to get better.
