Pen Lucy Youth Partnership

Pen Lucy Youth Partnership (PLYP) Serves children and families in the communities of Pen Lucy and Govans by providing resources, training and a context in which volunteers can share the reconciling work of Jesus Christ through child centered programs designed to help academic, athletic and personal growth. PLYP accomplishes these goals through the following means:

  • A learning center serves 40 children each week though one-on-one computer-based tutoring in math, reading, music and computer technology.
  • Soccer, basketball and flag football leagues accommodate over 300 youth. Travel soccer and tackle football teams serve youth who display some ability and are interested in furthering their skill development.
  • We partner with local Fellowship of Christian Athletes staff to share the Gospel in word with the youth we serve.
  • The commitment of over 100 volunteers contributes greatly to PLYP's success.

PLYP Director Kevin Good, a former professional soccer player with the Charlotte Eagles, has led the ministry since its inception in 1998.
