Missions

“I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing…
and all peoples of the earth will blessed through you.”
—Genesis 12:2, 3

Missions Committee
The FCF missions committee seeks to enable our congregation to extend its ability to bless beyond our own Jerusalem and Judea to Samaria and the ends of the earth.

Abraham was blessed to be a blessing. Through him all the clans and families of the earth will be blessed. Paul reminds us in Ephesians that as Abraham's offspring we too are blessed with immeasurable blessings in Christ. Why? That we too might be God's instruments of blessing to the nations of the earth. The FCF missions committee encourages members to stretch themselves through international missions, and supports and recognizes those who take that step through short-term and long-term missions activities. Regular prayer brunches serve as a vehicle for educating the congregation about missions opportunities and accomplishments, and those who have returned from short-term trips are often invited to make brief reports during the Sunday morning announcement time. FCF observes an annual missions emphasis month featuring special programs and speakers.

Missions Work Supported by FCF
FCF supports about a dozen indivual missonaries and missionary families, including several staff workers with Johns Hopkins InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. In addition, we support the missions work of the Presbyterian Church in America's Mission to North America, Chesapeake Presbytery missions and the Istanbul Presbyterian Church in Turkey.
