All this is from God,
who reconciled us to himself through Christ
and gave us the ministry of reconciliation. 2
Corinthians 5:18
In recognition of...
the invasions of injustice in human relationships
in the church and the overlooking of brothers and sisters who may feel
marginal or be overlooked in the fellowship (Acts 6);
the dynamics of ethnic and social demographics
both within the church and surrounding communities which demand our
awareness, understanding and righteous response (Acts 15); and
the evil one's incessant pursuit to destroy
the unity of the Body through ignorance, silence, and the avoidance
of addressing matters that expose our vulnerabilities (Galatians 2);
Faith Christian Fellowship established a Unity
Task Force, a multi-racial team of leaders appointed by the Session, which
meets monthly to give special attention to promoting and protecting matters
related to reconciliation in the Church through
gathering educational resources (books,
articles, magazines, videos, etc.) on reconciliation and promoting them
to the body;
helping create and lead constructive forums
in the church where race and social matters can be discussed, submitted
to the scriptures, and prayed over for application; and
working together on a Unity
Creed to provide guidance and clarity on reconciliation in the church.
